New Roads City Camp 

Registration Form

LEVEL I - Ages 6-9

An introduction class to paddle boarding for beginners.  Camper must be able to swim independently.   During this fun-filled camp, children will learn the basics of paddling and water safety, while developing a solid foundation for standup paddling. The camp will encourage teamwork and leadership skills through peer instruction and testing skills with fun paddling games!  

SCHEDULE:

June 24-28 - 8:30-10:30

July 8-11 - 8:30-10:30

July 22-25 - 8:30-10:30

LEVEL II - Ages 9-12

An intermediate camp for paddlers that have completed Level I and/or are able to paddle 400m independently.   Paddlers will be required to supply a fishing pole, artificial bait, and desired fishing supplies.  Students will learn advanced paddling skills during fishing excursions within a mile distance from the home of FRPC.

June 24-28 - 10:30-12:30

July 8-11 - 10:30-12:30

July 22-25 - 10:30-12:30

REGISTRATION FEE

$110.00 per week

*Please note that if less than 5 students register for a certain week, 

camp for that week will be canceled.  Participants registered may

choose to reschedule, or receive a full refund - guaranteed.  

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
  • 8 Hours of Instruction (4, 2-hour session camps)

  • Lifeguard Certified and SUP Certified Instructor

  • YOLO board and paddle rental

  • Official FRPC SUP Camp shirt

PADDLERS WILL LEARN:
  • Proper equipment fit/Outfitting/Transporting

  • On-Water Skill Games/Activities/New Paddle Strokes

  • History of the Sport

  • Fundamental Strokes and Maneuvers

  • Intermediate and Advanced Strokes and Maneuvers

  • History of False River

  • Environmental Awareness

Register your child for the 800m Kids Race at Southern War of the Oars, happening July 13, 2019!  Need more? Advanced paddlers can take on the 1 or 2-mile challenge!

Our goal is to provide the youth of the community with another way to live a healthy, active lifestyle while developing new friendships and building self-confidence.

 

Each day serves as a building block for the next with a strong emphasis on safety awareness, outdoor leadership, and conservation. Our instructors are caring professionals who specialize in creating a safe, friendly environment for beginners. Daily workouts will develop skills quickly and on-water observation and feedback allows students to pinpoint their strengths and improve in areas where needed.
